Nationalities

To refer to the nationality in Vietnamese, we can use người + country name.

người + [country]

Example:

• người Việt Nam = Vietnamese
• người Mỹ = American
• người Anh = British
• người Pháp = French
• người Nhật = Japanese

Where are you from?

To ask "Where are you from", you can use the following questions.

- Bạn đến từ đâu?: Where are you from?
- Bạn ở đâu đến?: Where are you from?
- Bạn đến từ nước nào?: Which country are you from?
- Bạn người nước nào?: Which nationality are you?

To answer, you can use:

- Tôi đến từ + [country]
- Tôi là người + [nationality]
